Find newspaper articles


To locate recent newspaper articles (varies by newspaper, but published within approximately the past 10 years, try searching in the America's Newspapers or Newspaper Source Plus. The Ethnic Newswatch database is a good choice if you are looking for an alternative view from ethnic, minority and native press.
  • You may do basic news searches in each database by entering keywords or "phrases" on the basic search screen.
  • To locate older newspaper articles, you will probably need to use a print index. Ask-a-Librarian if you need assistance locating older newspaper articles
  • The Government Documents/Microforms department at Joyner Library is home to the Early and Underground Newspaper Collections on microform. The Early newspaper collection contains a number of American and International papers from the eighteenth, nineteenth, and early twentieth centuries. The Underground newspaper collection is made up of college and independent publications primarily from the mid to late 1960's. Many of these collections are incomplete as they were made up of small sporadic production runs.
