Check out a book
ECU students, faculty, and staff as well as area residents may check out items from Joyner Library. Status with the university determines the number of items and the length of time the items may be borrowed.Students, faculty, and staff must present their ECU OneCard each time they want to checkout and/or renew items. Bring the Onecard and the items to be borrowed to the Circulation Desk located on the first floor of the library. Renewals can be made in person, online through the library catalog, or by calling (252) 328-6518.
Area residents may also obtain a library card by meeting the following criteria:
- Must be a North Carolina Resident
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Purchase a library card for a yearly fee of $35.00
Area residents may borrow a total of five items on their library card for four weeks. Curriculum books, videos, and DVDs are only loaned for one week with no renewals. (Basal textbooks are not circulated to area residents.) Area residents must present their library card with a picture ID at the Circulation Desk each time they want to check out and/or renew items.
