Boolean Searching
Key words may be connected by Boolean connectors (and, or, not). The Not connector must appear last in the search string.

Drug abuse or alcoholism

You may search for an exact phrase (searches are not case sensitive).
Such searches may include proper names or subject headings and sub-headings.
Examples:
Greenville Area Preservation Association
Pitt County Memorial Hospital
Fish kills--Neuse RiverTruncation
An asterisk (*) may be used to truncate a search. A question mark (?) may be used to match one character or zero.
Examples:
Crim* would find subject headings that include the words Crime as well as Criminals.
Crime? Would find subject headings that include the words Crime as well as Crimes.Searching for Years
You can limit your search to a year or range of years. Simply enter the years in the format #### (replacing the '#' characters with the numbers for that year) in the date range boxes provided or for a single year enter the year in the first box with no ending date range.
