Hundreds of Alumnae Have Accepted Invitations to Return to Their Alma Mater

On March 5, East Carolina Teachers College will celebrate Founder's Day for the first time in the history of the institution. Hundreds of Alumnae will return to their Alma Mater in honor of the occasion.This school was chartered by Act of the General Assembly, March 8, 1907. Since then it has grown and flourished from a normal school of one hundred and seventy-five students to a college with over nine hundred enrolled.

The program will be held in the Campus Building from ten-thirty to twelve-thirty.Dr. R.J. Slay will act as master of ceremonies. There will be six of the original eleven faculty members present at this meeting and they will give short talks.All but one of these six are still teaching in this institution.The six teachers are Miss Sallie Joyner Davis, Miss Mamie E. Jenkins, Miss Maria D. Graham, Miss Kate Lewis, Dr. Leon R. Meadows and Mrs. Hooker.

Mrs. Hooker is no longer a member of the faculty.

Miss Deanie Boone Hasket, president of the State Alumnae will give the welcome address.The main address of the occasion will be given by Mr. F.R.C. Harding of Greenville.

Following the program will be a dinner in the dining hall for all members of the Alumnae.
