Clifton Britton, director of dramatics in the Goldsboro High School, received the award, made annually by the Association to an outstanding graduate of the College, for his accomplishments in the field of dramatics.

The announcement was made during the annual meeting of the Alumni Association by James W. Butler, executive secretary of the Goldsboro Chamber of Commerce and vice president of the Association. He outlined Britton's work at the college and told of his success since graduation.

After completing his work for the A.B. degree in 1940 and the M.A. degree in 1942, Clifton accepted a position in the Goldsboro High school, where he is still director of the Goldmasquers, dramatic club which has won state-wide recognition. He is also in charge of the Goldmasquers Radio workshop, which is one of three high schools in the nation to have complete braodcasting studios.

In accepting the awward, Mr. Britton delivered a short, inspiring address.
