ECC Starting New TV Show

This article describes the television program "Concepts." This and other articles may be found in the University Archives.

"Concepts," a new weekly half-hour television program about East Carolina College, will have its debut Sunday morning on Greenville station WNCT-TV, Channel Nine.

Its beginning, the opening of a series of in-depths looks at var[ious topics. It sig]nals the end of the regular show it is replacing, "Lets Go to College."

The first version of "Concepts" -- an effort to relate the story of Vaudeville theater to the musical, "Gypsy," to be presented on campus next week -- is scheduled for airing at 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

Establishment of "Concepts" is the product of joint study and effort involving college and WNCT-TV personnel. It is intended to transform the college's weekly television program from one of mainly current informational nature in the "Let's Go to College" format to one which will concentrate on a single topic for a full half hour each week.

Dr. Robert L. Holt, ECC vice president and dean, said the new series represents an effort to improve the program by giving each week's director much more preparation time than has been possible before.
