Entertainment

Memories of entertainment events shared by alumni in celebration of the Centennial.
Gary Domanski, 1967 ~ One of the good things for low budget entertainment in the 60's was the price of admission to some of the marquee acts of the times: 50 cents over your student entertainment fees to see the following (list is not totally complete): Ray Charles, Lionel Hampton, 4-Seasons, Beach Boys, Buffalo Springfields, The Association (on the mall during summer school with complimentary ice cold water melon), Johnny Mathis . . . I played/lettered in baseball under coach Earl Smith. Dr. Martinez, Physical Education and Head Swim Coach, had a club called Raynez and it was a fun place to be on a Friday and Saturday nite (I need not say more -- the people who read this and were there will get a chuckle). Thanks for the opportunity to share.
Marion Slaughter Mitchell, 1984 ~ I have fond memories of Midnight Maddess parties at the Beta Faternity House and trips to Biscuit Town for a late night snack. I also remember seeing Jimmy Buffet in concert at the old gym. It was also rewarding to be one of the original Ambassadors for the Alumni House.
