Fletcher dorm Construction of Fletcher Dormitory, 1964.
Named for North Carolina author Inglis Fletcher, Fletcher Dorm is a seven-story residence hall for women. Originally built to house 432 students, it was the tallest building in Greenville at the time and was referred to as the "skyscraper dorm."

Fletcher Color Postcard of A.J. Fletcher Music Center, 1964
This structure was named for North Carolina philanthropist and patron of the arts, A.J. Fletcher. Located on Tenth Street, the facility houses classrooms, practice rooms, studios, music libraries and a recital hall.

One of the original ECTTS campus buildings and named for Herbert Austin, one of the original faculty members, "Old Austin" (as it is often referred to) was demolished in 1968 to create room for Jenkins Fine Arts Center. During its time as a campus structure, it housed administrative offices, a library, classrooms and an auditorium.

Named for the first ex-officio chairman of the ECTTS Board of Trustees, the second J.Y. Joyner Library was built in 1954. The original library was located in Austin and then in what is now known as Whichard. The second J.Y. Joyner Library was dedicated on Founders Day 1955. There have been numerous additions to the 230,000 volume facility, including a radio tower (1956) air conditioning (1964) two additional floors, the west wing (1973) and Sonic Plaza (1991-1998).
Ficklen Ficklen Stadium, South Side, 1963
Originally built to hold 10,000 Pirate fans, Ficklen was designed to expand to 50,000 seats (which it currently accommodates). Named for East Carolina alumnus James Ficklen, the stadium was built solely with public subscription funds and replaced the former College Stadium (seating 5,000). Throughout the years, the stadium has undergone numerous expansion and additions to become the stadium used today by the Pirate Nation.
