Color postcard of Davis Arboretum named for Sallie Joyner Davis in 1930 had a lily pond donated by the senior class. It covered an area of about six acres that had previously been a hog lot. The lake was drained in 1937. Caption on postcard: "Partial view of lake, East Carolina Teachers' College, Greenville, NC."
